Christmas, 2008

Christmas 2008

Hodie!

Unfold the seasonal petals
of your snow-dusted bursting bloom!

Reveal to the clamoring
hungering world
my warmly fleshly
glory-bright birth!

Then ah—listen!
Soon follows
the clear benediction
of a cold bell chiming.

Hodie! Venite adoremus,
Christus natus est!

Hello. Your poem reminded me what I was saying to the plants as I bedded down the garden before snow and cold engulfed my place of tranquility. Very nice blog and I like your writings.
